Cannot download attachment yahoo mail

I started getting this error message maybe a month ago when trying to download attachments from yahoo mail and also when trying to download installs from the internet. I'd guess its been caused by an update, as I have windows update service running as well as McAfee updates installing as and when available. Both have been installed since purchase and I've not previously had any problems with downloads. I've run the internet explorer troubleshooters from Control Panel which didn't help and have tried the suggested solutions below from other similar posts, however i'm still experiencing this problem.

Why does my yahoo mail when I open it say no downloadable file found? How can I fix this problem? Do I use a computer instead of phone?
